POJOKSINEMA – Meski kurang daya cengkram dan tampak malu-malu, “Elevator Game” menyajikan banyak ruang pencahayaan yang tinggi di babak pertama. Hal ini dilakukan agar sesuai dengan kemasannya sebagai komedi horor dengan spirit yang lebih terasa remaja.

Hanya saja, memang tak bertahan lama ketika film tersebut berubah menjadi horor yang mengancam. Kita akan menyaksikan atmosfer ketakutan -yang – sama terbatasnya dengan trik pembuatan filmnya sendiri.

Jika ingin disebut, film ini masih malu-malu dengan flavour penyutradaraan.

Rebekah McKendry  sebagai sutradara bersama timnya berjuang keras menciptakan ancaman yang kuat dari  permainan “mematikan” menekan tombol lantai lift. Inilah yang dimanfaatkan, meski tidak maksimal.

Keberanian bermain Elevator Game dengan DOPnya sesekali terlihat menarik. Namun yang menarik hanya satu dan terlihat berkembang secara visual.  Yakni tanda X merah jambu yang menyeramkan dan tegas yang membelah langit.

Tanda X yang penuh isyarat untuk remaja yang telah memasuki gerbang kematian yang ia takuti. Film “Elevator Game” setidaknya sedikit berhasil bermain dengan pertunjukan karya seni yang cukup solid dan cerdas McKendry.
