POJOKSINEMA – “Chief of Station” mungkin bisa saya sebut film aksi solid yang lebih garang menampilkan gaya baku hantam aktor Aaron Eckhart.

Aktor pemeran Benjamin Asher, Presiden AS dalam dua seri action Olympus Has Fallen (2013) dan London Has Fallen (2016). Kali ini Eckhart berperan sebagai mantan kepala stasiun CIA, Ben Malloy, yang mengejar para pembunuh istrinya, Farah,  dibintangi aktris Prancis, Laetitia Eido.

Beberapa waktu lalu, saya (penulis) sempat menyaksikan dua penampilan Eckhart di dua film laga keras berjudul; Rumble Through the Dark dan The Bricklayer. Saya melihat potensi aktor ini dalam film laga dengan instrumen baku hantam yang cukup keras dan padat.

Berbanding dengan Rumble Through the Dark, film The Bricklayer lebih meleluasakan Eckhart untuk mengeksplor talentanya sebagai aktor laga, tentu dengan aksi jurus bakk bukk !

Dalam “Chief of Station” , porsinya lebih gila lagi. sutradara Jesse V. Johnson menuntut banyak kemampuan Eckhart beraksi dengan jurus mematikan yang lebih padat dan sangat keras ketimbang dua film sebelumnya tadi.

Eckhart nyaris menggantikan figur Bryan Mills , karakter kuat dan keras yang sempat dimainkan aktor gaek Liam Neeson di trilogi “Taken”.

Hanya saja, kemampuan akting Eckhart dengan jurus baku hantamnya, masih perlu dukungan naskah film yang baik juga. Cukup disayangkan, ketika ia berlelah fisik memainkan jagoan yang sulit terkalahkan namun tidak ditopang dengan naskah yang jempolan.

Pada beberapa elemen aksi heroik Ben mencari dalang pembunuh istrinya dan menyelamatkan putranya, cukup berjalan baik. Ben memang diposisikan sebagai agen dan jagoan tanpa ampun saat menghabisi lawannya.
